Caribbean Countries:
Shipments to this region may require providing the consignee's postal code on the B/L. This information is necessary when the shipping vessel passes through Caribbean areas controlled by countries in the European Union. Non-compliance with this requirement may result in a penalty charge for the consignee at the port of discharge.
Please note that while past imports without providing the postal code may have been successful, it does not guarantee its omission in future shipments since each shipping vessel follows a unique sailing route.
South Africa:
To understand regulations in South Africa, please refer to the International Trade Administration Commission (ITAC) and the National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications (NRCS).
Also, please be aware that the South African government restricts the import of foreign cars to those that have acquired an Import Permit from ITAC and a Letter of Authority (LOA) from NRCS.
